Join the National Science Center's Fort Discovery in the World Space Week 2008 celebration, Exploring the Universe. This theme encourages participants to reflect on space as the next frontier.

Special PowerStation Presentations

28 and 29 April 2008
Jim Gerard, a NASA Aerospace Education Specialist, will present on "NASA: 50 Years of Exploration."

30 April 2008
Astronomer John Hodge, a member of the Solar System Ambassador Program, will present on "Robots from Earth invade the Solar System: An Overview of Planetary Exploration."

1 and 2 May 2008
Speakers will discuss exciting topics and conduct interactive presentations that will inspire and excite students and adults.



Week-Long Activities

Throughout Space Week, Fort Discovery's explainer staff will conduct STARLAB presentations and space-related activities on gravity, micro gravity, Newton's Laws of Motion, rocket launching and centripetal force.

The National Science Center's "Mars Probe Yard" exhibit will be available for student interaction. This exhibit promises to be a favorite for all visitors.

Join us May 3 as The Science Store celebrates Space Week with arts and crafts, balloons, and face painting.
